The head-and-body length is around 24–35 cm (9.4–13.8 in), and the weight has been recorded to be between 0.62–0.97 kg (1.4–2.1 lb) without much variation between the sexes (though some dominant females can be heavier than the rest).

In captivity, Meerkats have been known to live for over 12 years. Lifespan in the wild may be from 5 to 15 years.

Color is usually yellow buff; individuals range from near white to almost black. Head and body length is 5 to 6.8 inches (13 to 17 cm). Weight is about 7 ounces (0.2 kg).

Adult females range from 427 to 560 mm (16.8 to 22.0 in) in head and body with a 385 to 432 mm (15.2 to 17.0 in) long tail and a weight of 1.36 to 1.870 kg (3.00 to 4.12 lb).

Captive Cape genets live for 15 years.

Males often weigh between 2.1 to 2.8 kg, whereas females generally range between 1.9 to 2.1 kg. Males have an average body length of 40.8 cm, with a tail length of 29.4 cm, whereas female body lengths average 40.6 cm, with a tail length of 28.1 cm.

Virginia opossums have a fairly short lifespan; wild individuals typically only survive about 1.5 to 2 years

An adult animal can reach a length of 30 to 45 cm and a weight of 1.5 to 2.25 kg. The tail is 15 to 30 cm long.

Banded mongooses live around 10 years

The body of the Banded linsang is 40 cm long, and the tail is about 34 cm.

Their lifespan in captivity is about 10 years.

Length of head and body is ~160 mm (6.3 in) at weaning, increasing to 260 mm (10 in) or more in large adults. This species has an extremely short tail as an almost vestigial feature, typically 20 to 30 mm (0.79 to 1.18 in).

In the wild, European hedgehogs can live up to six years.
