Duck is the common name for numerous species in the waterfowl family Anatidae. Ducks are divided among several subfamilies in the family Anatidae; they do not represent a monophyletic group (the group of all descendants of a single common ancestral species) but a form taxon, since swans and geese are not considered ducks.
Ducks are sometimes confused with several types of unrelated water birds with similar forms, such as loons or divers, grebes, gallinules and coots.
Adult ranges from 45–51 cm (18–20 in) and weigh approximately 800 g (1.8 lb)- 1,000 g (2.2 lb).
Males can live to 11 years and females to 12 years.
On average, are 17 in(43 cm) - 19.2 in (49 cm) long and weigh 1.31 lb(590 g)- 2.13 lb (970 g).
With a single individual reaching 18 years of age.
The bufflehead ranges from 32–40 cm (13–16 in) long and weighs 270–550 g (9.5–19.4 oz).
Known to live as long as 18 years.
Length – 15.8-19.3 in (40-49 cm); weight – 16.0-31.0 oz (453-879 g); wingspan – 23.6-26.0 in (60-66 cm).
Lifespan in the wild – 11years.
