In captivity

Lifespan is about 15 years.

It is not recommended to be kept for beginners.

To keep the Haplopelmavonwirthi, a terrarium with a size of 30x30x30 cm is suitable. As a soil, you need to use either coconut or peat, since these two soils retain moisture very well. The height of the substrate is 10 cm.To make the spider dig a hole faster, you need to make a hole in the ground with your finger.

The tarantula should be kept at a humidity of 80-85 percent and not allow the substrate to dry out. Juveniles are particularly sensitive to changes in humidity. Be sure to have very good ventilation in the container where the tarantula is kept, and the ground should also be ventilated. It is not superfluous to put driftwood in a terrarium.

Do not let direct sunlight enter the terrarium!

Feed young spiders once every 3 days with a feeding object, the size of which coincides with the size of the abdomen of the tarantula. The fact is that Haplopelmavonwirthi are terribly dirty and do not take out the remnants of food from their burrow, and with such high humidity, there can be a very unpleasant smell and parasites can appear. Adult spiders need to be fed once every 10-14 days. Crickets, marbled cockroaches, locusts, mealworms, zophobas, Madagascar or other large cockroaches are suitable.
